So, I'm in the market to get some new entertainment center stuff and I'm stumped on what I should get. I have a 42'' Samsung rear projection that just crapped out on me. I'm going to spend about $500-700 on either a ceiling mount projector or a LCD screen. It looks like the best bang for the buck would be the ceiling mount projector.

What do you guys think about them? Here's what I'm kinda looking at. If you know of better cheaper ones, feel free to share.

just remember whatever projector you get you need something to drive it, and a sound system, you dont want to have a kick ass projector and use the little speaker thats built into it.. hehe . if you get a 3000.00 1080p projector you need something to plug it into that will give it a 1080p signal. so there is something else to buy.. I have a projector and mostly use it for DVD'S just s-video but works great for DVD's.

I actually just moved into my friends big basement. So, it's nice and dark down there. It's the man room. Pretty pimp I must say.

I bought a Sony CPJ-100 12 years ago and love it. I had 60" when the biggest glass tube tv you could buy was a 27".:naughty: I had a better movie experience in my living room than at the theater.

That you live in your friends basement? LOL

I agree on the 1080P comment, your blowing it up pretty big and the extra resolution will make a BIG difference when watching HD-DVD or Blu-Ray disks.

Not the concept of living in the basement, but the way I have it setup. For $500 a month which includes everything (cable, internet, food, utilities), I can't complain. Not to mention the military gives me $1150 a month for housing. So, that leaves me $650 extra on top of my regular pay. I moved in because I got a divorce.

So, basically I should get the projector. It's gonna be sweet.

I have some nice JVC speakers and a good AMP and what not. I think that I might order it tonight.

Divorces aren't that great. Fortunately me and the ex are still friends. As for splitting everything, that went smooth. We split everything right down the middle. Plus, not kids made it easier.
