I have a 3 inch test pipe. The cars is considerably louder at WOT and pulls much harder in the top of the power band.

Test pipe's worth it in my opinion!

Test pipe is definitely worth it IMO. If you gut the cat you get a lot of turbulance so I'd recommend shoving a 2.5" pipe in there if you do. You might have to grind the inside lip of the cat just a little bit to get that pipe in but it will fit.

Ah the joys of living in the South...no emissions testing, :naughty: . I don't personally have a test pipe...yet, but I've heard nothing but good things about them from my friends that do have one. I say go for it!

Yeah but even though your in the south not having a cat will raise a flag with the smog nazi's. Well unless you know a guy like I know a guy. I would have to suggest doing like Bishop suggests and putting a 2.5" piece of pipe in the stock cats shell. Besides if you were to upgrade to a HI-Flow cat, the difference between that and a test pipe are not that great from what Ive seen. If you really want to do it all the way though, get an electronic cutout welded onto the downpipe so you can just dump the exhaust gases before the cat and still pass emmisions testing w/o any probs

Dont you guys have an inspection in FL though? They dont have to do an emmisions test to put your car on a lift and see that the cat isnt there. I thought that an emmisions test is where they just test your exhaust gases to see if you are a gross polluter.

They don't test anything at all. You buy a car, get it registered and that's the end of that. Maybe if the cops pull you over because of a monstrous white cloud behind you, but I've lived here for 6 years and have never had any kind of tests done...you'd be amazed at some of the cars you see driving around.
