Car won't start

I just finished changing the HG and got everything together and now car wont start. At first the cold start injector was spewing gas but got that fixed(loose bolt) it tried to turn over a couple of times but would never turn completely over, I'm almost positive I have everything connected properly.

I was wondering if the timing could be off and cause it not to start?

but any info/tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

what do you mean it would never completely turn over?

if the timing was off, it would not start. that would be the first thing to check.
next check to see if you are getting spark at all and then go from there..

I was saying that it would try to start but never started.

1. How do you check for spark?

2. How hard is it to check/adjust timing?

1) Checking for spark:

Pull one spark plug wire off. Preferrably number 5 or 6 because those cables are longer. Then hold it near a metal ground (like one of the strut caps?) and have someone try to start the car. Be very cerafull!!!! Keep your fingers not anywhere near the metal part of the spark plug wire! You can see now wheter it fires or not.

2) Ajust timing.

First get a timing light. After that set the engine to TDC by hand. (Using a wrench or something.)
Now put two (white) marks. One on the Pulley and one on the timing belt cover, between 10-12 degrees (see TSRM for details).
Put the timing light on the #1 spark plug wire and start the car. You can point the light at the pulley now and see whether the marks you made are aligned or not.
If not, then set the timing by

0) stop the car
1) Going into diagnostics mode.
2) Loosen the CPS bolt.
3) start the car
4) move the CPS up or down and at thesame time use the timing light to check the timing.
5) If the marks are aligned correctly then shut off the engine and fasten the CPS bolt.

See the TSRM for going in to diag mode and details on your specs for the timing as well as a description how to set the timing if you don't understand mine ;)

I included a picture to show the CPS position.

You should check your fuel system too if all of the above being mentioned is checked already... Mines would not start and acted like how yours did but I changed the fuel filter and the fuel pump. It finally started and stayed on due to a messed up fuel pump that was on it before the transplant. Not a bad time to upgrade to a walbro pump too. Just my 2 cents.

If the car will just barely turn over, it sounds more like a discharged battery. If it isnt, and all connections are good, it could be a bad starter with high resistance.
