k so now im in a bunch...... my car wonr go past 2k rpm under load.. i replaced the maf and it didnt do anything... do you think it could be an intake leak>/? this is getting expensive and annoying.:: angry ::
sounds like your tps is out of adjustment or on the wrong way. this happened to me when i put a new engine in my first supra turbo. does it like basically stop doing anything until you shift into the next gear and it does it like that in every gear?
lol do you think i put the tps on backwards? woops i might have... what happens is it feels like the fuel is cutting off entirley at 2k rpm.. and it does it in all gears all the time./
I also think it sounds exactly like a TPS problem. If the ECU thinks the throttle is closed, but still sees increasing RPM and airflow, then it will stop injecting fuel at a certain point...TSRM says ~1800 rpm for a GE, so 2k seems about right...
If the engine rhythmically cuts off and comes back on at a lower rpm the problem is caused, as stated, by failure of the IDL contact to open. This is confirmed by the *lack* of a code 51 and the presence of code 41 when the throttle is opened. This is because 41 gets set anytime VTA exceeds 1.5 volts with IDL closed.
what was happeneing was i had exposed wire on the top 2 contacts of my tps connector, they shorted together and that caused what is happening... i rewired them without a connector seperating each with electric tape and plugging in each seperatley and that fixed my issue.
