My name is Duy, 17, I just got a NA 87, it starts fine and the only problem i have with it is the previous owner put the wrong fluid in the PW/Steering reservoir. So i have a bad seal. Leak. But now i want to kno sumthing. Ok. my car starts fine when my cuzin came over and check the car and its been doing fine. For sum reason my stereo wont work so i asked him to help me to take it out. So, unscrewed the srews out, unclip the black piece. Then unclip the Emergency switch, light washers, and the lighter. THEN when we try to start the car a second later. It wont even crank. My cuzin said it has sumthing to do with the alarm that was on the car. But when i got my car, the alarm never worked. My cuzin said it has sumthing to do with the alarm. We took out the bottom cover and saw couple of wires were rewired. My cuzin knos y the car does that, wont start, he has 2 model but he just doesnt kno y when we took out the black piece cover of the stereo it became like that. It has nothing to do with it. This had happened to him so he has switch on his car 4 a while. Anyone can give me any advice? The only way i can start my car now is by putting a switch in. Any thing will help. Thanks

So your saying the car wont start because you took the stereo out? Kinda confused...what are these wires that have been rewired? This might and might not help you, its a post from shaeff from this thread http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=109&highlight=stock+alarm
you have a couple of options here. if the door sensor is NOT fried:

close the door with it unlocked
put your key in the door, then lock it.
wait a minute or so, then unlock it.

when you cycle locking/unlocking the door like this, it is supposed to reset the alarm.

or you could go under the hood of the car, find the two wires that go to the hood sensor (so if someone pops your hood, the alarm sounds) cut them, and splice them together. this will make the alarm think that there is a door open, in which case the alarm cannot be armed.

this is the route i took:

go under the dash on the driver's side. attached to the steering column way up under the dash near the firewall is the alarm computer.

here's a pic of where it is, its called "theft deterrent computer":
http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/librar...be/BE_010.html

i completely removed my Theft Deterrant Computer, as there is no need for it to be in the car if i've bypassed the alarm function!

there is a wire you must cut. it is a blue wire with an orange stripe. cut it near the connector, and make an extension to the nearest ground, and ground it well!!!

once you pull out the computer, and ground the blue wire with the orange stripe, your alarm problems will be solved.

if, however you forget to ground that wire, your starter will not engage when you turn the key. it is the ground for the starter that the alarm cuts to disable it.

edit: to add some more info.

well, this morning i came out real early to try and fix the car. Last nite i took out the positive battery terminal. This morning, i pop the brown wired right back on the starter, connected the battery. Started her, woot, she starts right away. Well, i was happy. I also find out that my wired harness that goes to the alarm was taken out and the white and blue wired were cut and spliced. DIDNT kno y. Now im trying to reconnect those to see if my alarm is still working. But yea, shes fine now. Started makes me happy enough. I think i may just put a starter kill switch on her anyways. Thanks for all of the advices
