So today i decided to drive the Supra and i pulled pretty hard flooring it in every gear, well when i got to third at about 60-70 mph my car just turned off and the sterring locked up, scared the hell out of me. It was almost as if it was my NA and the MAF sensor wasnt tight so it cut off..

What could it be?

Thanks in advance.

How could the steering "lock up". It can't. I think you're mistaking loss of hydraulic pressure for steering "lock". As for the engine, could be any number of things from loss of fuel to ignition to low oil presssure (the ecu looks at oil pressure).

You could have reached fuel cut RPM. Not the fuel cut everyone here talks about but the real fuel cut function caused by a faulty TPS or TPS wiring. Did the engine come back to life when you backed off the pedal?

*edit* I'm not sure if low oil pressure will cause the ecu to kill the engine. It looks at it but I'm unable to find that function in my TCCS manuals. Anybody know?

*edit again*: Ok, I tracked it down. It's for ISC control when cold.

Sorry thanks, the sterring dint lock up, it more stiffened because all the dash lights came up, then Yah as i let off the pedal the car came back on and the power steering returned.

Wht could it be.
