Hi, I have a 1987 Toyota Supra turbo. It starts up and then it dies. If I keep it running by pressing the pedal it will idle weird from like 2k to 3k rpms. I've switched out the injectors, wiring harness, tps(adjusted correctly), isc, put an hks bov on, replaced spark plugs, and tried a different afm. It did have some codes but I cleared all of them and it has nothing coming up now. It has no air filter at the moment and is open dp. I've tried to do a boost leak test a couple times but couldn't find anything. I can get video of it if needed. It also backfires when it idles weird. Could it need a new o2 sensor, cps, or timing? Also the owner before me took out the charcoal cannister and cruise control. So there might be a hose not hooked up. I'll try to get some pics tomorrow. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I just want to drive her again.

See if the charcoal canister removal was done correctly. I know two Supra owners that have no air filter on the end of the AFM because of space issues. They just have the honeycomb screen at the end and the metal screen cover. Their cars run fine as far as I know.

Check the CPS, timing and the O2 sensor using the TSRM.

I had the same problem when my CPS was off a tooth.

Do you have any codes?
