Ok so my friend replaced his turbo with a upgraded 57 trim. He had stock exhaust. He recently installed a Lipp elbow, HKS downpipe, high flow cat, and super drager cat-back exhaust. After installing the new exhuast setup the car smokes. Im thinking its the turbo seals. But he said it didnt start smoking till the new exhuast was installed. Has anyone had this problem? Or does anyone think its what I sugested and its his turbo seals.

He recently purchased a Holset HX35, he is planning on installing to replace the 57 trim to see if it is his 57 trim seals, so we will find out then. But this install will be a while. So while he is still driving on the 57 trim CT, I wanted to see if anyone has ever had this "smoking" problem. Thanks guys.

Not sure how much smoke or for how long, but there is often oil residue inside of the SS piping when new, could still be burning off. But like I said I am not sure how much smoke you are talking about or how long it has been driven since these items were put on...

That sounds like valve stem seals.

Turbo seals would be either constant or mainly during deceleration.

Of course mine started that way and ended up getting worse after a few months... BHG FTL.

Ok true that, but I thought if it were the valve stem seals, it would smoke during start-up and lighten up after it warmed up. This problem only occurs if he is stopped for more then 15 secs. Give or take a second. :D

Could be the packing in the exhaust. My Tanabe smoked off and on for a few weeks. Epspially after higher temps under boost.

Well the car ran with the 57trim CT. No smoke with stock exhaust. Then the 57trim and after market exhaust and it starts smoking. And the car it was on before his it never smoked. So the PO said. But idk.
