car hesitates

Now in the U.S.
I'm almost done with my swap, and now I'm just trying to get the car to run right. The motor fires up right and it revs up fine. But whenever I actually drive it, the car hesitates when I hit the throttle. Also, my idle bounces from 0 rpm to 1k, it idles really low but it doesnt die.

I have all the piping (including the IC) and theres no leaks (not to my knowledge). Now I'm thinking it has somethin to do with fuel and/or exhaust. Or another thing is the ECU. I read on another thread about the capacitors in the ECU being blown...could it be that? I really don't know for sure right now. I need some input...thanks in advance!

well i had two things recently that made my car hesitate

1. clogged fuel pump strainer
2. bad O2 sensor

you might wanna check the O2 at least

POSSIBLY teh TPS...not sure, my car hesitated too buuuuut i never got the chance to fix it so...try pulling some codes using a big paper clip and connecting the diagnostic terminals.

ok im getting code 31 thats it... and it says air flow meter signal... whats/wheres that on the 1jz engine...and how do i fix it..... i need some help here... thanks again in advance...

im thinking its my turbo pressure sensor since i know for a fact that the 1jz doesnt have a afm... but from reading the codes and trying to figure it out, doesnt the map(turbo pressure sensor) take place of the afm??? since the 1 jz engine doesnt have an afm???? what do you guys think????

Is that the only code you're getting? Describe in better detail what you mean by hesitating. Does the car still pull fine after the initial hesitation?

yes thats the only code im getting... ok i start up the car revvs fine, when i go to drive and pull out the car stops revving at 4k and starts popping... and im not even getting boost at all from the start of 1st gear... i thought it was vac problems but its not... i've lookd up about caps and stuff and i was wondering if that is the reason y i cant revv hi??? more on driving... is when u start off from 1st till iono 3500 where boost is suppose to hit, and it doesnt hit... then towards higher rpm it starts to pop like crazy and the rpm stops moving and wont go past 4k...what could it be???
