Alright, the probs with the supra keep popping up now that I have it on the road, but I figured that would happen anyway. I was driving the car around town, and was having zero problems. Stopped at a gas station to put a couple bucks in it, etc. I drove the car for about 20min and on my way to wally world, I gave the car some gas around a corner (was around 1400rpm) and the damn thing just died on me. I mean completely dead, no power whatsoever I couldnt even put the hazards on, it was like some little underhood gremlin disconnected the battery. Well I try to start it again and it cranks on the 1st try. At this point I decide screw walmart Im heading home. Well on the way back it did it again when I stopped at a light. I almost got smashed by a damn 18 wheeler since the light happened to be on the other side of a hill and I couldnt be seen till the last minute. Once I was finally able to get the car on the side of the road I popped the hood and checked the battery connections, they were completely tight. When I touched it though the lights came back on in the car, I tried to crank it and it started, but as soon as the revs dropped it died again, same thing no nothing. Then the damn lights came back on on the dash again and it cranked up immediately. So at this point, I try to drive it back home and not letting it idle when I come to a light. I finally get it all the way home and when I park it, the damn car idles perfectly again. So I decided to ride around the neighborhood to see if the problem came back and it did, but only when I tried to do a U-turn and went up on the curb in the process. So im guessing that bump triggered it. Funny thing is, the car rolled maybe 5' and the lights came right back on and it started and idled again like normal. What could possibly be causing this? My dad seems to think its the altenator, but I dont think thats it because when the car is running its fine.
