Well it is time to buy a new daily driver and it is turning into a nightmare. My Corolla is starting to show its age and I am starting to feel less confident about driving it to anywhere but work, so I picked a Talon TSI about a month ago....BAD IDEA , so now I am on the hunt for a Subaru WRX. Trying to find a decent WRX has been a nightmare. I am so pissed!! I found a 05 WRX with low miles and a clean carfax at a local Toyota dealership so I called them and faxed my information over to be pre-approved. I figured it would be easier this way because I wouldn't go up and get all excited about the car only to find out I didn't get approved for the car. Well long story short I was approved and I was 2 seconds from pulling into the dealership when I get a phone call from the sales lady saying the some punk kid and his dad just bought the damn thing!! WTF? I thought the car was mine once I was approved!! I want to complain to someone because I think that its wrong but I don't know who to complain to and plus its not like that can take the car back from the kid who bought it. Now ever 10 minutes that dealership is calling trying the sell me other BS that they have sitting on their lot. I am so pissed everytime I find one I like there is something wrong. I found one that would have been perfect for about 14k so i called in only to find out that there was a error and the price was really 41K. I just want to find a damn car and go on about my life, all I think about is buying this damn car. Sorry for the long post i am just pissed.

If you get into a Subaru you're going to love it. Being able to get into a car and just turn the key and drive... Not HAVING to check the oil everytime you stop at a stoplight... Plus you'll have 4 doors, which is awesome as well.

Have you checked NASIOC for any WRXs? Ever consider a Legacy GT?

^^^ Thats how I feel about owning my GS300....except it didnt cost as much and changing the spark plugs was a hell of alot easier :)

Spark plugs on the STI arent bad either... would much rather swap them on it than on a 7mgte... or any v6 fwd car...

my sister has a wrx and it's a nice car but it just seems so cheap to me. like the quality of the car feels cheap. but i guess thats what happens when you are used to a 90's luxury car

Yeah I have looked around on NASIOC, but there aren't any decent examples within a reasonable distance. i have checked on insurance and it does seem kind of high but the WRX fits my needs/wants so well I am willing to pay for the insurance. I haven't looked into the Legacy GT because I thought they would cost much more.

Thats funny that you mention the GS300 because it is my second choice if I can't find a WRX. My only problem is that the GS didn't come with a 5spd and they don't seem very mod friendly except for major swaps, but I could be wrong. What year is your GS and have you modified it at all?

Don't play like rexxers are problem free, I hear too many stories of axles going bad, quickly broken clutches, wastegate actuator failures, etc.

traction is a bitch... :icon_bigg

I've had mine for a year now driven like it's stolen... 0 problems. well, there was that time I left the dome light on for a few days and it wouldn't start... but that's been it so far.

you bought a tsi... hahahahahaahhahahaahha

hahahahaha

that shit is beyond funny. especially for a daily driver car. there only as reliable as the previous owner... and 90% of the time you get FUCKED over HARD.

i defintaley wouldnt get a wrx though... my friend has one, and i HATE working on it, maybe its cause he was kinda dumb when it came to cars, but it just sucked.

Seriously Matt, worst smell ever. I'd buy super shitty bald tires just so I wouldn't have to smell that if I launched.

^ But come winter time it's practically unstoppable. Besides, ina couple years I'll slap a better clutch in it and start breaking stuff. It'll be fun!

DSMs are fun! Check the oil and replace the trans every time you drive it, what's hard about that?

how i feel about my IS300 Sportcross too. I get in and I drive, fast, slow, whatever and it runs like a Swiss watch.

to the OP, try and find a Legacy GT. Higher quality than the WRX. Also get your own outside financing BEFORE you go to a dealer. Makes things alot easier. Worse comes to worse leave some money as a DP and get the financing worked out. If you have decent credit it shouldn't be a problem.

If I could do it all over again, I'd be tempted to. But I'd feel a lot worse about cutting doughnuts back in the field behind my parents' house...

Thats just shitty of them to sell the car on you when you told him you were on your way down. When I bought my
p1105526_1.gif
I was pre approved and everything just like you. The only thing I did put down $300 on my C.C. to "hold" the car for me tell latter on that night. Other wise they couldn't guarantee that the car would be there. Dealer ship was 1.5 hrs away from me. But never the less I drove down there and drove off the lot around 8 on friday night.

GL with your search.
