Hi,

Can the stock clutch handle 300 ft lbs of trq? If yes, for how long.

I am planning on running 12psi on a Holset HY35 12cm2 turbine, 3" Exhaust, front mounted Garrett intercooler, lexus afm.

BTW, I checked the clutch and pressure plate and they are in excellent condition. I was hoping to run it for a year before upgrading to an RPS unit.

i was going to say the other way around actually..... Spec is known to send out stock PP iirc from tests that Dr. Jonz did. The pp will hold the disk will start to slip on you when you boost it up.

my point i was trying to make,, and maybe im wrong here , but if the disc slips, then the pressure plate is at fault for not applying enough clamping force on the disc? if the disc explodes, then i blame the disc...

In my case, i would slip the disc in 3rd, 4th,and 5th gears on the stock clutch setup, but swapping the pressure plate with 30% stronger clamping force prevented the disc from slipping, I havent seen Drjones info yet though..ill go read it now..:) either way, dont skimp on the clutch...

MKiiina: is that on sm or mkiiitch?
