so i have the problem that when i step on my gas pedal, i gotta be really gentle with it to ease it along without jerking it(yeah im auto:icon_frow). i got used to it but its still annoying and even harder to do when im reversing. upon closer inspection of the throttle cable, i find its loose, thus a probable cause to my problem. how would i got about tightening this line up? is there a way? a shorter cable maybe? what to do?
thanks.

in the pictures, i am using minimal stress to move the cable.

I have the same problem. It creates a lot of play in the accelerator pedal before it picks up the cable.
Taking up the slack is done by moving the nuts closer to the passenger side, then tighten the nut on the other side down. I've adjusted mine all the way out but still have slack.
I'm thinking the cable has stretched in 15 years :dunno:

I'm glad this came up again. I figured out what caused the remaining play in my pedal.
The stop was bent down near flat and caused it not to rest in the proper place.
