im going to be putting on a FFI intake soon, and a new intercooler.. now my mechanical skills allow me to put on the ffi and relocate the battery and such, but i cant weld.. so basically what i wanna do is put on the ffi and put a filter on the throttle body... and then drive it the 18kms down to my mechanics shop where he would mount and urn the pipes... now can i do that? the turbo would pretty much just be throwing any boost it made into the air... becasue i was going to rip out the stock intercooler and pipes...

wait... what's the point of this thread?

you have a front facing intake and a new intercooler.... ::clap clap clap::

you are having a mechanic build you the ic pipes.... ::clap clap::

you are going to put on the ffi yourself but drive to the mechanic without pipes on your intake manifold... ::golf clap and then a slap in the face::

It was a good question. I know what you meant, and yeah, the afm could change things a bit. If anything, and i were in your shoes I would just get CAA to tow my car to the welder's shop if it's only 18 miles.

I get what you are asking, and no it's not a stupid question (I would not do what you are asking). None of my pipes for my FFI are welded together. See pics below. (But I did weld my FFI) This is also good because it allows them to "flex" with the engine movement.

Haha you so funny :dunno: Whats the support dealy? You mean for my IC, it's just 1/8 flat stock from the hardware store. And I propped the IC up where I wanted it to sit and then bent the brackets to fit, then welded them on. SO....if you want that you would have to ship your car to me.......Or are you talking about the Rad support? Again, the same applies, or I would have to rip mine out to copy it. I thought you were going a different route with your Rad? But seeing as we are way OT, we can continue this under my build thread :biglaugh:
