i got pics of a really nice 7m vr sensor mount for the trigger wheel i had made. it consists of 3 peices of ss welded together. i prolly wouldnt to stainless for cost reasons, but if i could get the peices drawn in cad and cut, i could fabb the brackets and sell them to those that bought the wheels from me. also, coul have 1 peice made a lil diff to fit 5m's and 6m's as well and make those too as i have a junk 5m shortblock. so if anyone can draw in cad, lmk. ill fwd the pics and can mail the vr sensor and my trigger wheel too you to help draw up the main peice i need. the others i could make myself if i had to. i would need my parts back as they are for MY engine, i have no spares left. sold them all to help other people out. i can proly get the stuff cut local on a waterjet. and also, since i havent heard from the origonal shop. i may see if they can cut the trigger wheel on the water jet so i can do another group buy of those as well.

long story short, if you can draw in cad and have some free time to help out, please pm me. thanks. the time for them to draw it is what makes the parts so exspensive. so if i get the drawing done for free itll keep costs way down for everyone.

i'm an acad designer but i am not quite understanding what you need.. You have a photo of the part? Or is it a drawing with dimensions that you want drawn into cad so you can toolpath it and cut it out in cnc?..

If you get me what i need I can do it from work, or at home. But definantly wont be done today, I have a few large projects that are high on the urgency list. (although if it's small and will only take a few minutes I can do it quickly.)

i dont need it done now. im at work at the moment, i forgot to upload the pics so they are on my pc at home. i dont have measurements as the origonal bracket isnt mine. i just got pics.

the main part is curved, it allows the sensor itself to slide left or right to adjust timing. its not a fixed mount. that way people can advance or retard the base timing as they wish. the trigger wheel changes the timing in 30deg increments(12 bolt holes, only 4 used to mount it). iirc this mount the guy said allowed adjust ment in 20deg. soooo, allows a much better way to dial it in "just right". the pics are on my laptop at home. i accidentally deleted them from the pc here at work and for some reason dont have them in any of my yahoo folders(i looked) or id just post them now. i think you will need th sensor and the wheel to get the curve right and allow the sensor to slide smoothly. there isnt a rush on this, though i wanted to make one for my own personal use, but i know everyone that bought the wheel would want this too. so if i can get at least the main peice drawn in cad and cut ill be good. ill try to get cardboard templates of the peice that needs drawn to fit the 7m block and 5m block. then i can take measurements from them but would also mail those wit hthe wheel and vr sensor just in case. the conecting peice of metal isnt anything special, i can cut that wit ha saw. then line them up, tack, then remove and weld. much cheaper that way i think.

templates are always nice, if you traced out the part on a peice of paper or something and accurately draw dimensions and scan it as a raster image or something like that (.tif) I can throw it straight into autocad as a "full scale" scan and trace it 98% accurate (unless you measured the radius aswell, then 100%)..

Oh, I might not be able to help you out. I might be at Ft Benning, GA in a few weeks. My house is sold on Nov 17, but I might be in the area for a few weeks afterwards. I get my orders next week, so I'll let you know...

I've got three semesters of autocad training, but I don't have the program anymore. Anyone care to hook me up?

AutoCad 2007 work? I can hook ya up with it if you want.. :icon_razz

any ways, if you want someone else to do it thats cool, being local doesn't really matter if you're just emailing a drawing file =X.

well, i was going to take the sensor and the trigger wheel to him. easier, cheap and faster to just drive the parts over then ship. :p

Cool, let me know when you want to do it. I've stopped taking on new work so my schedule is opening up a bit. :biglaugh:

ill only slightly modify the design. i want the part that bolts to the motor to fit with the a/c compressor bracket in place or without. sooo, thats why i need to make the template for that peice first, but this is how it looks.

Bump.

Any luck getting someone to make a CAD file of this?

I can make a solid model if I have dimensions.

Soliworks, solidedge, catia, autodesk inventor...

I also have cad :)

let me know. Like all people that would do these drawings for you, we need dimensions, or the actual piece.
