hey guys im looking at getting some aftermarket cams i read that you will have overlap with aftermarket cams .how bad is this ? im looking for a cam with a good powerband what duration and lift do you think i should get thanks

u get overlap with all cams aftermarket cams are just worse, as far as aftermarket 7M cams u can wait a month or two for the brian crowers ro come out and i think HKS makes a really expensive set. the BC's are going to be 264 and 272 duration, for a fat powerband the 264's would be best but the 272's yeild a bit more top end power

There are better ways of increasing power in your 7M without touching the cams. They are pretty well suited for differnt mods well into 300 HP. I would spend the money elsewhere in mods b 4 seeking new cams.:naughty:

Over lap is just the number of degrees of rotation that both intake and exhaust valves are open. Big overlap numbers are usually found in NA motors.
Lots of over lap on a turbo motor will cause more low end turbo lag.
There is no rule that aftermarket cams have more overlap, this is just how most aftermarket cams are ground, being that most are made for NA motors. most aftermarket turbo cams don't have as much overlap as their NA counterparts as they are ground on diffrent centerlines than NA cams.
Some 257-264 duration 8 to 8.5 mm lift cams would be some nice steet/strip cams.

yo dread wasup . i havent heard about the supra guy in brooklyn what is his name ? maybe one of my other friends heard of him , anyway if you want to see a race tonight come out to the nassau a 2jz powered mk3 will be racing a evo most likely
On a turbo motor, lift is what I'd pay more attention to when buying cams. I forget what you can actually fit in the 7M head before you have do machine work...

Two if the MKIII is a red one then it belongs to the tech I was telling u about in Brooklyn and his name is Boy. The EVO belongs to Ricky more than likely 'cause those two are always going at it and without being there I know Boy won that race.:icon_bigg
