well i bought a supra in pieces and the tech said he cant find the cam sensor but my car has the NA cams. basically im asking if it is necessary or do i need the NA
cam sensor?

NA or Turbo cams don't matter, it's the ECU, if it's a Turbo ECU it needs a CPS (Cam Position Sensor). Without it your engine will have no sparky.

The CPS is a distributor with out the cap and rotor, and fire function.
