hi all. i have a leak from my cps. i plan to change the o-ring on it, but i have a few questions.
i looked up the procedure in alldata, and it says to replace the gear on it. is there a kit that i can buy that comes with the gear and o-ring? would i be better off replacing the whole sensor with a rebuilt one?
lastly, is there a way to do the repair with out goiing through the timing procedure? what i mean is, can i take out the sensor and install it in the same position without a problem?

thanks, and sorry to sound like a rookie

Replacing the internal seal and bearing requires gear removal. Replacing the external O ring does not. I prefer to us a gasket in addition to the O ring. As long as you mark the sensor internally and don't turn the engine over while it's out you shouldn't have to time it again.
