im thinking of buying a mk3 turbo and i was wondering wat to look for on the car E,g were they rust,any engine noises to look out for,thanks any help will be appreciated

Tire well in the trunk usually rust quickly due to the old weather stripping, Thats the most common. I usually see them at the door handles and right below the Back tail lights. Im sure you have heard an engine run before, make sure it runs smooth. If you here clanking, or slapping stay away, Tapping is most likley the valves, which you just need to readjust. Ask for paperwork to see what has been done to the car.(look fo Head Gasket)
Just take it for a test drive, if you can bring a friend or uncle you knows there way around a car, do so!
