Hey, yall, well here it is, 2 weeks after I bought my 86.5 NA and I found an 87 Turbo for sale.
My NA has 98k miles, the Turbo has 145k.
They're askin $4995 for it.

The paint is clearly comin off the Turbo and is totally shot on my NA.

Should I trade in the NA???

holy hell that price is a ripoff.... negative ghost rider...pattern is FULL.

What would be a reasonable price for this?

And what can I ask for my trade? (it runs great)

i would say about $1000 Traid on your car. and a fair price (befor traid) would be between $2000-2500.00. they was only asking 1500 for mine when i traided a 1994 For Explorer for it. and i traided a 1994 Chevy Cavalier, that had full body kit, rims, and all kinda outher stuff on it. for that. inwhich i only paid $900.00 for. so that may or maynot give you a idea....

if yours runs great, dont trade it, offer the guy 1500 tops for the turbo.

Don't have $1500 at the moment, but I do have an NA...Besides, I think the wife would flip if I came home with another one. I did a good job convincing her that this "Toyota" was a good buy as a daily driver. She dosn't know anything bout cars, but if I came home w/a 2nd Supra, she'd start to ask questions :nono:

Why in the world would he trade a turbo for a NA? What is youre car worth? He is asking 3 times what youre car is worth... Go ahead and try. BTW he is trying to sell his car, why would he want to try to sell yours instead. A turbo is much easier to sell. Offer him $3000, if he takes borrow it from your woman.

I would say dont do it, I just bought my NA too and it runs pretty damn good. Ive seen some turbo cars finally pop up for sale, but buying a used car is always a risk and since you now know your car is dependable keep it. If you want boost, do what I plan to do and buy a used engine and swap it over, if you do it yourself you can do it with a couple of friends in a weekend and it would only cost you $2-2500 and you would know that it is still dependable.

And whats wrong with the paint on the NA? it looks pretty mint in your sig

agreed with Ideal. HELL NO! that's way too much. you can buy yourself a mint 89+ turbo targa for that much. a fair price would be $1,000-$1500 or lower depending on what issues the car has.

post this guys name and/or add (not address) so we know who's trying to rip off supra owners.

It's the other way around. My NA as down payment on the Turbo

dont sell the NA or Trade it. period.
if you want to get a turbo, get a turbo but dont get rid of the NA, ull kick urself in the ass if u do. most T cars have been beat to complete shit. most NAs are the exact opposite.

it really depends on the condition of the car. I got mine for $4,200,but the car is in REALLY good condition.Sure, some elbow graese made it shine brighter, but you have to look all over the car, look for damage that has been repaired, did the previous driver drive the dog shit out of it,up-to date service, hell, even a compression check.Throw up alot of posts here and ax what to look for. I(we,us) know what to look for,and what can be dis-missed. Interior crap can be replaced easily from your local junk yard or e-bay.It's how the car runs/stops/idles is what is important before how it looks think.

well for the price of the NA + $3000 i think the guy needs a new outlook on the value of cars, he is a sales man tho..
and as for what it looks like on the outside, put it this way no one wants to buy a rust/bondo bucket car.:biglaugh:

True, but fenders/hoods/doors are easily relaceable. A "rust bucket" that can smoke your ass is more embarrassing than a clean one. You never know.IF he bought the car,he might be replacing all that anyways.Good barganing chip

true but the rust bucket u are thinking of isnt a rust bucket IMO, what im talking about is, u kick the finder and the other side of the car falls off, not the average bit of rust but like holy sh it u have a lot of rust.:biglaugh:
