Built 7M-GTE smoking blue, Need opinions. All help is gratified.

I have a 1989 MK3 Supra with a built 7M-GTE bored .2 over making around 300-330hp on 12psi boost, I have a CT26 stock housing with the godspeed internals and i have only put about 6k on the godspeed turbo internals and the car smokes when warmed up, not when cold. so i'm leaning towards thinking that the godspeed internals went bad and the turbo is dumping oil in the hotside and causing the blue smoke on idle, acceleration, boost and after boost and a little on deceleration. (only when hot, not when engine is cold. blows nothing when cold) Cant forget to add, i dont have any cats, but I do have 1 dog. the engine internals and cylinder head was all rebuilt and the cyl. head has new valves, guides, valve stem seals and so on (6000 miles ago). So im pretty sure its the turbo and not the valve stem seals, already eliminated the piston rings as a possibility by doing a compression check. Exactly 150psi in each cylinder on forged low compression pistons with .2 over displacement. Im leaning towards getting a turbo rebuilt by Albert. Does anyone recommend a certain trim turbo to to order from Albert? Im thinking the Garret 57trim internals. Not sure if i need exhaust clipping or not. Can anyone recommend a trim to order from Albert as well as their input or questions they might have about the light blue smoke? I'm still unsure if its the turbo that's causing blue smoke because everything has such low mileage. Thanks so much guys!!!!!:icon_bigg

Also, does Albert accept turbos that are not stock internals for rebuild at the same price still?

Also since im new here might as well introduce myself. I just purchased a MK3 Supra with a built 7M in the lexus is300 blue.

Yea I think you are right about it being the turbo. If it were the valve seals it would some when its cold on start up. Did you pull off the turbo elbow to see if you see any oil inside? Also, I have heard good things about Alberts rebuilds. Another option people go is sending your ct-26 to driftmotion.com. They will rebuild it and have a few different wheel options. Most people go with the 57 trim as its about as big as you can go on the ct 26 and still have it be reliable. Driftmotion has a very good reputation.

Thanks, SupraTrbo89 The supra is a daily driver and i drive it to school. its still hot right now, but in an hour i will pull off the elbow on the hot side of the turbo and look. I just read that the valve stem seals can pop up and not seal properly, can i take off my valve cover and visually see if the seals have popped up with out taking off the retainers and valve springs? Which does faster work, driftmotion or albert??

I took off the turbo elbow and felt around on the sides and the inside was completely dry, my finger got covered in just a powdery dark black soot. (NO OIL RESIDUE) but when i took off the intake pipe that connects to the front of the cold side of the turbo, there was a little bit of oil right before the compressor wheel. Any idea how this got there? Also i tried checking the compressor wheel free-play and was able to get maybe a little less than a millimeter of play side to side and none back and forth with the limited amount of space i was able to try and move the wheel back and forth with my two fingers. No idea whats going on really...

I know thats it' normal to have a little oil in the intercooler pipes......as far as the valve seals go.....no you would have to remove the valve covers cam shafts, buckets/shims, valve keepers/retainers and valve springs....then you would be able to see the valve seals. So it's quite a process if you choose to go that route. Like I said earlier though....if a valve seal was not seated properly you would see smoke on cold start up. I just replaced my valve seals with the head still on and one of my valve seals was not seated correctly and the car blew a ton of smoke on start up but not as much if I started it after it was warm.
