It leaks. Trust me. Use the black fipg from any auto store, or use 'The Right Stuff'. It's expensive but DAMN does it seal well! Just like black fipg... only on crack and stickier than an old hookers inner thighs.
The engine was never desgined to have a cork gasket there for it is not needed and will only cause problems down the road. And seeing how there is only 2 ways to get enough room to get to the gasket and neither of them are simple its better to do it right the first time.
My 2 cents, but just the thickness of the gasket moves the oil pick up tube just that much futher away. FIPG WTF. Think about it :icon_wink. Awesome colors though, I raced with those colors in go-karts for most of my career, till john deere green was put on my car for a sponsor :naughty:
And with the like... 5 or more guys who are advising against the cork gasket, go buy some FIPG and call it a day!
By the way, do they make a purple high temp engine paint? or is that just some multi use paint?
