Finnaly begining a long overdue project. I bought My pearl White 88 N/A Over 2 years ago for Far to much money. Ran and drove when I bought it. I fucked around, and didnt know what a rod knock was all about.
1 year went buy graduated higschool and the car had been moved to at least 4 different locations. A local said if I needed help that there was a forum that was all about Mk3 supras. So I came here all bad ass like, and was quickly educated by the powerhouses of SM. Started going to College For auto tech ended up landing myself a job as an assistant instructor. Learned evenmore and finnaly thought i had earned to work on the piece of art that is the supra.

started teardown today. was going pretty good everything was real clean not a lot of wear. The waterpump housing looked funny........watch the movie

lol i didnt set the date on the cam those were from today. looking for a good clean na rebuild with mild updates. motor was quite clean when i bought it teardown was quite smooth no problems at all until BHG. the #6 cylinder is scored pretty bad was supposedly a 30K mile jdm motor i picked up last year for $700. Might have to go as much as .030 over to true up cylinder wall witch will mean new pistons. have a budget of a little under 3 grand to play with already planning light flywheel & driveshaft saw alot of SS at driftmotion liked the clean setup on all the fluid lines.

Area of HG that caused failure. motor must have been run with water only at somepoint to accumulate rust of this level.

UPDATE: sry no pics
Got the block stripped the rest of the way down today. Hot tanked it for 6 hours, and power washed out the water jackets. Broke down the head as well In the process also broke the heater union hose off the back (anybody done that?) All valves and seats looked fine no pitting or damage of any kind. Bead blasted more parts clean.
