My daily driven supra is down with a broken clutch master cylinder. so, i've been using my dad's 3 series. i don't really mind it actually, hehe. well before i give it back, i'd like to make it as clean as i can. the headlights have that rough yellowish haze all over them. i'd take a picture, but left my photography unit elseware. can it be buffed out somehow? if i use my plastic polish, it gets a little better, but only for a couple of days.
any thoughts?

yeah i thought about wetsanding it. i dont wanna fuck it up, so i guess ill hold off here.
thanks
you wont screw it up, start with 800 or 1000 and go up then use plastic polish to really shine it up. it will make a world of difference

I've done it plenty of time to remove part numbers that are molded into the lenses.

i have this plasticX meguairs plastic polish. will that be a good enough polish? you think it'll last? im afraid of sanding it, polishing it, and then getting a worse haze after a couple days.

none of that will work for more than a few days

the plastic is NOT UV resistant at all, there is a coating on the lense that does this. rock chips take it off, then it oxidizes...

there are professional kits to do it. basicly, you wet sand it in progressively finers snadpapers, then you polish it, and then apply the coating...

so my pops decided he wants to replace the lenses all together to fix this problem. Can you buy just the outer part of the headlight assembly? or do i have to get the whole enchilada and pay and arm and a leg? from my searches, i did not find anything but a whole 200 dollar assembly and i need two. did i not look good enough? its a 2000 bmw 323i.

sounds about right...

Try and find the glass lenses instead of the plastic ones, because the plastic will only do it again in a couple years...
