So, I plan on starting my build, already kinda have. The motor is on a stand in my basement torn apart. First the goals.
Don't want to spend over 3k on motor. Is it possible?

CLEAN SHELL
500whp RELIABLY (if that's possible on a 7m?)
Pump gas 93 oct pref

My questions are, should I run stock size pistons? I already know I need to run forged internals at that power, but what about the bore, cams? Stock or bigger? What size injectors do you guys believe would suffice? Maybe leave room if I want to go for bigger horsepower, as for turbo i want a moderately quick spooling turbo and the redline at 7k would be nice.. I take it a standalone would be the way to go for this much power. So any advice and answers for these questions would be great. Also what should I have done at the machine shop to make this easier, I got the basics, decked blocked, resurfaced head, honed, am I forgetting anything?

Thanks for your time to read this.:)

I could do a whole writeup on things that I would recommend for 500hp reliably but I just think you cant get that with only 3k. I would save all the money you can, look into the cost of standalones, internals, and supporting mods and reassess your budget. I have around 3k just in building my engine and machine shops costs. A decent stand alone is going to eat up at least 1/3 of your budget alone unless you find a hell of a deal on a used one
