Broken Seatbelt

This weekend my friend and I were out an night and he closed the door on the seatbelt (the clasp part which buckles in) and broke the top of it off. It is still functional but the clasp just hangs at the bottom of the belt rather than being taught to it with the top of the plastic piece.

This happened at night and I went back to try and find the piece in the parking lot the next day but had no luck.

I would like to fix it. Just wondering whether the seatbelt is a made as a continunous loop or is it cut somewhere. I want to see if I can just buy the buckle portion from toyota but I'm figuring they will probably make me buy the whole thing.

If anyone has had experience with changing a seatbelt in the past that would be helpful too.

Thanks

Post up a WTB in the Classified section. It's gonna be the whole belt assembly, so make sure to specify which color it is.

you can unbolt it from the floor, take apart the plastic thing on the bottom of the floor and thread out the seatbelt buckle and put a new one in ... that's not hard at all.

Not sure if toyota lets you buy the buckle seperately, let us know.

heh, that's happened to me TWICE now. i've been through two sets of seatbelts because the color never matches quite perfectly, and it bothers the crap out of me.

first time was my now ex-girlfriend, slammed it in the door. (i always told her to watch out for it.

then i got a new one (well, whole set)

3 days after i installed them, my cousin did the exact same thing. man was i pissed.
