I just finally got my mkIII on the streets yesterday when as soon as i took off i heard a loud pop from the back end and alot of moving. I immediately came home and jacked it up and saw that the rear differential support was broken and everything was moving around. I take this is a common problem with these older supras? There is an N/A in my local junk yard but i wanted to know if these would be interchangeable between the N/A and the Turbo.

Question #1 Yes, and #2 yes. The rear support can be repaired (welded) and extra bracing welded on for extra strength.
Look up shaeffs build thread. He had his reinforced really well. If it broke off on the lower mounts i would start off with a good 89+ one.
