Are you using a brake line wrench? I can't remember what they are called... but they help. If the nut is still frozen on and you are starting to round out the nut, just clamp some vice grips on and use those.

Usualy those are just there to secure the line to the car, keep it out of the way. Should just be held in by its own tension, so yank it out with pliers.

Hose the fitting with PB Blaster for a three days. 4 times a day if you can. once when you get up in the morning, round lunch, dinner time, then before you go to bed.

But do that for 3 days and they'll come off easy.

Provided you're not in any rush...

thanks for the help guys. got it last night shortly after my previous post. turns out all i had to do was tap off the e-clip holding the line on there and it slipped right out.

took me about an hour to remove the first one and less than ten minutes to remove the second.:eek:wned: i shoulda known...

anyway, here's a pic. fresh brembo cross-drilled and slotteds, porterfield pads and porterfield lines.

Not to hijack, but if things still hadn't worked out, how hard would it have been to replace the hardlines "end-to-end?"

thanks, been using the tsrm for a while now. got the fronts off easy as the backs, just waitin for the rotors to come in. satan, i imagine itd be pretty hard to replace the lines end-end without a lift or a shitload of patience.

Not too hard. all you need is some flare wrenches, a 10mm socket, and 4 jackstands.

The ones going across to the ABS actuator will be a pain with the engine in the car, but otherwise, not that bad.

There are like 6 bolts going along the chassis holding the lines to the frame rail. You DO NOT want to break these off, so spray these down with PB for a couple days before tackling this event.

It is easy as hell. All fuel lines can come out at the same time, too, as they are a bundle, and if the brake lines are bad, then the fuel lines can't be that far off....

Good luck!

Yeppers! That's why I was asking... figured I could really get in there when I pull the 7M again.

Where'd you get the lines, Toyota? Already bent/shaped?
