Just cause some of you have sworn off SF (not that i blame you) but i figure ill post it here as this is the true mk3 site. Ok so my car was having timing issues, my Sard ecu is tuned for 104octane and i only have access to 93, so the knock sensors were going ape shit and my traps were very low. went to the track last season on a set of 275/40/17 fuzion zri's pulled consistant low 1.9 60' but could only muster a 13.0 @105.7 (tuned) The car was detonating so bad that they could hear it in the stands. So this season i fixed my timing issue and went out on drag slicks to try and grab that stock twin record. From racing my friends and i put my car at a 12.6-12.7 110-112 trap car. or so we thought. turns out its a tad quicker than that.

Due to my Clutch not holding out against hard launches on sticky rubber, i could only muster a 2.0 and 2.2 60 and the clutch wouldnt grab at all until mid 3rd. My times were 12.93 @110 with a 2.0 60' and 12.97 @110 with a 2.2 60'. well then i tried to save the clutch by not doing a burnout, and babying it off the line. This worked mostly, the clutch held and i ran the 12.6 @112.8mph. With a 2.0 60'. i the car is actually a 12.4 @112-113 trap on street tires, with slicks and a 1.6X 60' the car should have had no problem running 12.0-11.9. 11's in a full weight 90 supra and a basically BPU+ 1j. That would have been insane. And thats untuned, i lost my tune a month back and my labtop crapped out meaning that the runs were with my air/fuel in the 9:1 range. Basically i had high hopes for a miraculous run and my clutch let me down.

Here are my mods:
Mods are:
Sard ecu
DP/ Testpipe - Tanabe Hyper Medalion
Race 4.30 LSD
Modified RPS stage 3 6puck
hks evc @18psi
Crower 272 intake cam
HKS 264 exhaust cam
shifting at 7500
Konig Monsoon 17x8, 17x9.5
Koni yellows/eibach pro's
Full int.

Still stock:
Fuel injectors
Intercooler pipes
Intercooler
Untuned(my afr is in the 9's)

I just ran to try and get the record, which kinda happened, i atleast got the stock twin mk3 record, could have had the all turbo stock twin record had my clutch held. The stocktwins are comming off for another set of stock twins, FMIC, 440's & 2j map, Hardpipes, EO1 profec, and obviously a new clutch. Heres the time slip and video. thats all i can think of, basically i have kinda fell off the map with the supra community and decided to catch everyone up in one swing.

insane times.. your tuned wouldn't of mattered I dont think... youre out of injector I'm sure (wideband might be lieing).. I assume the car is making 370-380whp..

damn.. I wanted to build a hardtop stock twined 1j car to go after the record, but not sure if i'd be able to beat your car.... if you can get it to hook with a good clutch, no reason that car shouldn't be in the 11s..

I like you...

You've been representing the 1J really well since day 1.

Great times for stock twins.

btw, which EVC are you using? I'm having some issues with my evc1 right now. It seems to be working well for you.

actually when i tuned i had a solid 11.4-11.6 across the board and i took out ~25% from the stock injectors, the stockers will support 400whp no problem. Tuning would have helped a bit.

I have the original EVC soon to be replaced with the Profec Eo1, the nice part of getting rid of it is ill have my ashtray back.. not sure what ill use it for but

The current record is 11.8 in that same 240 with an 80shot. tuned and a bunch more mods than i have.

The all turbo record is 11.974 again in a 240 and i was very very close to that.

And thanks i try to do my best, i really belive in the 1j and have done insane research on finding the best setup. I purpously didnt upgrade the stock FMIC, cause part of my problem the 13.0 run last year was that, my buddy found that the stock twins will make power up to 23psi, so i tuned on 20 psi, forgettign that i had cams, bigger cams, more air moves through, so the turbos have to spin faster to produce the same psi. so 20psi was past their efficency, when i turned it down to 18psi the car just pulled soo much harder. So im at the efficency point of the turbos, and the stock IC will support 450whp but the flow isnt the best, so a FMIC would flow better, meaning id have to lower my boost to compensate for the added flow, but the charge would be slightly cooler. So in my mind it would actually make me slower if i upgraded to a FMIC. lol

oh for racing on the street i love the twins. the spool is soo smooth that it doesnt just roast the tires, it gives them a fighting chance for traction, so when the other guy spins i just kinda tear off, or from a roll you just brake boost and even against a 6sp tuned, full bolt on LS1 i still shoot out 1/2-3/4 of a car right off the bat. There is nothing wrong with the stockers, hell id almost be happy with the power they are making now, if there wasnt a few too cocky F-body guys around.

im loving it thanks alot, the car really came alive with them, i completly lost all low end but from 3400-8K+ it just doesnt fall off. even on the stock twins. the turbos give out before the cams do.

good job SupraRacer. I was loving your reaction time, but I'm sure you were waiting to launch when you were ready. My cams react identicle to yours, nothing at all until 3400 and then it's hold on to your ass.............:biglaugh:

wow.. pulling 25% tuned? at 18 psi? I say you probably have 440s or maybe larger in there.. thats very odd.. very nice though..

what is your 'modified' rps clutch? My spec did the same thing with radials.. wouldn't hold on the launch :/

The motor i got came from an unmolested 93 Limited R clip w/26K. so im pretty sure they are stock. i have a walpro but other than that fuel is stock.

The clutch was originally a stage 3 6puck, the PP was turned had stiffer springs installed, than adjusted out to make up for the material removed, the clutch had a semi-metallic material put on the pads were shaved uniform than the whole thing was adjusted and bench tested/broke in. It held great for about 6-8K miles and the other night at the track was the first time it slipped, just couldnt handle the harsh fade and sticky rubber and track.

and i wasnt running at the track to work on my reaction time, i was there to run my car get the best 60' i could and run the fastest time i could. So i went when i was damn ready. no need to rush. The 12.6 run was me jsut trying to baby the clutch and have it hold together for one good pass which it kinda did.

I have a bunch of video of my car from the last year and when i get it all to my computer than you bet ill be posting up a new video.
