This may seem like a real dumb question but i am a newb to turbo and my supra is my first turbo car.

so my question is if im running stock boost on the stock ct26 turbo is getting a BOV a waste??

i plan to eventually upgrade my turbo and have started saving. Also should i just get the upgraded ct26 turbo or the greddy 20g upgrade kit??

yeah im pretty sure i have a metal head gasket cause the guy that i bought it from had rebuilt the motor and hes had a few mk3's before i think i remember him saying that it had a mhg.

and i already got 2.75 inch straight pipe exhaust with a apexi n1 muffler and the apexi power intake.

do you have any suggestions on which BOV i should get if im only running the stock boost right now??

no it won't be bad, it will run rich when it blows off, and pissibly stall the engine, if it's vented to atmosphere (open air).

What you can do is recirculate it, just like the stock bypass valve. Meaning, you re-route the air back to the intake (before the turbo). That way it will operate just like the stock unit and will support more boost, and still sound cool.

turbo upgrade first...

BOV just makes noise, as long as the stock one isn't stuck open or closed it's fine...

Only reason I'm running an aftermarket one is because my hardpipes didn't have a provision for the stock one...

bout how much does a new boost controller cost??

You know, most of these questions can be found if you try and find the answers yourself.

Asking one or two questions is ok but don't expect everything to be spoon fed to you. The information you're looking for isn't that hard to source.
