do BOV's ever wear out? is there a way to see it it is still good? should you be abel to hear the stock bov? i dont know any supras near me to compare to. and how much boost can the stock bov take? it looks kinda puny so i was gonna upgrade to a 1g before i boosted any more. was wondering beccause i have whats seems like a fluttering when i boost. compressor surge :icon_frow ? i'm only running 8psi and i can hear the fluttering at 4psi so i'm thinking the bov is craped out. btw my turbo was recently rebuilt.

Yea you're stocker is most likely shot, which is causing the comp. surge. May I suggest getting a Bosch Bypass valve? There are different models availible. http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?p=18244#post18244
so where can i get one of these bosch cbv's? do i just go to the parts store and ask for a bosch # 0 280 142 108 or # 0 280 142 103? i'd hate to think what the porsche dealer would charge for one. how much $ should i pay for one? i see that they can start to leak after 16psi but one day i'd like to boost 15psi, can these valves handle that? i'll pull my old valve and see if i can blow through it.

I love my bosch.....louder than stock (esp with an upgraded turbo) and you don't get the signal loss resulting in engine cut off when stopping like some of the vent to atmosphere valves.
so i took off my stocker today and tryed to blow through it. didnt seem to leak any, unless my lungs are weak.the guys at my auto parts stores looked at me like i was retarded when i asked for a bypass valve, "we don't get into that". don't get into what? selling car parts? whatever, i'll buy from the link here. is the stock bypass valve suposed to sound like pphhhfffft! or more like pphsshhh-thwwoo-phhssss, i might have misspelled that. anything else that can cause surge?
and how much boost can the bosch that ends in 110(off the saab 9000t) handle? it'd be great if it was 15psi.
