ok I can't keep from getting compressor surge. With the stock BOV vented to the air is the only way I seem to be letting off gas. is this obviously a vacuum problem? I've removed the EGR so alot of the lines got relocated. and some of the sensors may have been removed. where should I start?

ahh shit, well I tried a few different vac sources and rerouted the lines to make sure and it all seems like it should be yet it surges (no blow off) with everything.... here comes the uh oh, I figured I'd adjust it, (hks ssqv) so I went real loose and nothing, then I went real tight and heard a crack so I backed it off a bit and tried it, nothing. WTF!?!?! upon further inspection I am still getting vacuum to the BOV line so all my vacuum is straight, could this be the second BOV I've had that is not working or a throttle bodie issue (I don't know, I'm reaching pretty far for possible causes)

ok after reconnecting the 3kpipe BOV outlet to the AFM tube via PCV hose I no longer have the compressor surge but the new HKS SSQV grunts rather than making any type of hissing sound.

ok heres the final question. Do I need the BOV to recirculate it's vent? or is it ok with the 3K venting to the AFM tube? How is an aftermaket BOV suposed to fit in here?

if u use a aftermarket bov and vent to the atmosphere, you block off the port going into the turbo.(accordian hose) you mount the bov on or near the 3k tube.(i have hard i/c pipes and no 3 pipe, bear with me.) route the vacume line to where it goes for the stock location.

thats the simple way about it. i dont know if i can word it any easier without pics. look at the other hoods posted around here and youll get it. i have a el chepo bv and 10 psi and it all works great. ricers hate me.

yea, I figured it'd be that easy but I got compressor surge BAAAD on 2 BOV's screwed all the way loose. I"ve fooled around with the maze of lines under the IM (everything plugged and no leaks) so I don't really have a stock location but I've got it hooked to the FPR line which seems to be the same thing. I've also hooked it to my boost gauge location and it still surges. GAWD damnit I hate this cause I know it's just some stupid thing that I've over looked but I've been staring at the damn thing for so long I can't see straight.

Do you know where the vac line for the factory bpv was? I would just run it there. I run a Bosche bpv so I don't have any experience with adjusting the screws on a BOV.
Make sure all the steps are done. The valve is connected to an intake pipe AFTER the turbo(a pipe that sees boost: i.e. IC pipe, 3k pipe). Then make sure the vaccum source is post-TB(i.e. stock location, line coming off the intake manifold).

"crack" doesnt sound good to me...
that adjustment on the BOV is for "hard" PPPHHHSSST or "soft" pphhhsssttt...

yea, I'm getting pressure. when I push in the valve it'll blow off. I reconnected the PCV system (replaced w/breather) to see if that may've been the issue but no. the only thing I can think off (and I'm really stretching here) is my ISCV makes no difference wethere pluged in or not, maybe this is changing some pressure in the IM? if the CEL is not on, that means I have no codes to pull right? oh and the crack was the front of the valve, no biggie (not great) It may not work as well BUT IT SHOULD FUCKING WORK AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
