I am still learning myself so please don't take my word for it. But I believe it depends on what BOV you have, most of the aftermarket ones I have seen have a flange that gets welded onto your intercooler piping, and then there is a vacuum hose that you can T into your vacuum system to allow it to recirculate instead of venting to atmosphere. If I am wrong please someone chime in cause I may be.

There are many pics on here for where and how to mount the BOV, it does depends on what kind you get. There is the bosch BOV that basically replaces the factory one. Or many aftermarket kinds/brands that you will need to weld or use a custom IC pipe to install. If you use these you will just need to cap off the ports leading to the factory BOV. The thought from most is to locate the aftermarket BOV close as possible to the thottle body. the vacuum line is important to activate the bov when you let off the gas.
hope this helps i am tired

The best thing to do would be to get a completely new hard pipe for the upper section of your intercooler piping with a flange weleded onto it right after the pipe passes over the head. You then install the BOV of your choice, then re-route the vented air from the BOV back into the stock accordian hose (the black rubber pipe going to your turbo). Get some new vacuum hose to replace the old hose that ran off of the OEM bypass valve and plumb it up to the new BOV.

still on bov topic, but a question about venting bov to atmosphere. would that cause any problems with stock afm? stalling, etc...? i know it did when i had my talon just wondering if the same principle applies here

It's the same. Driving style has a lot to do with it. When Theresa drives my MKIII with a vented Greddy BOV it tends to stall on her every once in a while. It almost never does for me.

I had a vented TurboXS BOV and it never stalled on me either. My HKS BOV I had a few years ago would make my car stall, but then again my driving style has changed since then.

my mkiii stalled more in colorado when it was vented or the hose that recirculated it was off i suggest recirculating it... do it right the first time stalling can suck in a turn ;)

haha. werd on that but if your already running without power steering its really not as big of a problem(ask me, i know). but yes. recirculate. it also helps from running rich and having back fire coming out of boost.
