I just upgraded from bone stock ct to a gt35r, and i have an HKS SSQV. before the upgrade, the BOV would make all the noises expected, like that high pitched noise we are all familiar with. NOW with the gt35r, it makes a new noise, kinda like its not even opening. when i boost hard and let off, it doesnt make the high pitched noise, it just makes a huge woosh sound (which may be normal, but ive never heard it before). i have vac at the BOV line. also, with my car idling, if i rev it up and look in the BOV where the valve is, i can see the valve move when i let of the throttle. any ideas?

Thank you

GT35R moves enough air to make a woosh.
How much boost were you running on the stock turbo?
As long as your not hearing surge, a chugga-chugga. noise when shifting, you're all right.
It should be a tight Kwush!

15 psi on stock turbo, doesnt sound like surge im pretty sure, but it is a definate solid woosh. I just thought the HKS SSQV made that high pitched noise no matter what. but as long as its working thats fine by me.

well, kinda a update. i got home from work and took the supra out, and i think its actually surge now that i am listening to it closely. could it be that the turbo is outflowing the bov? i wouldnt think that would be happening. any ideas what could cause this?

where is the vacuum line from your BOV attached to? My guess is that its attached to the throttle body. Try the manifold instead.
