So ok today i bought a new TPS sensor and checked the wiring.

Before - car was throwing code 41 and idling really bad and felt like it was missing. Always trying to fall on its face when i let off the gas.

WOT car read 77% throttle on my S-AFC
AT idle would read above 20%

Now - Car runs smooth and strong idle's pretty darn good but....

WOT - S-AFC reads 86.6%

Please HELP

S-AFC tells me car is at 0.435volts 0% Throttle Reading
I push gas to the Floor only 3.630 86.6% Throttle reading

Checked all wiring for S-AFC

I'm Stumped...

re-calibrate the S-AFC? I know when I set mine up it asked me to push the gas pedal down all the way once. I think it just reads the voltages from the TPS and determines what % it's at depending on the min/max values, so it's probably just a bit off for your particular TPS.

You were right held gas down for alittle bit with car off and it adjusted thankyou.

I set it as low as possible while still reliably closing IDL. It typically ends up around 150 mv although setting the TPS by the book usually causes it to be a little higher. It varies from car to car.

I played with it abit and its at

3.580 WOT
.345-.360 IDL

Ok so i'm having a weird problem..

I was out driving and noticed that my check engine light came on. Also noticed that when i came to the stop light my AFR's were at 10.0-10.7 (IDLE) i would start driving and they would level out 14.8-15.7 check engine light goes away. Come to another light same thing 10 AFR ratio if i taped the throttle while waiting at the light they would adjust themselves to 16.5-17.4 (IDLE)(sadly that's normally what my idle AFR ratio has been) check engine light turns off also.

Any idea what's causing this?

I'm thinking it may be something to do with TPS still but maybe Bad AFM?

I changed the AFM to one off my 87 and it the problem went away :) i also had a loose connection on my battery cable so i think it was resetting my ECU.

Only problem i have left to take care of is the missing problem i have ordered new NGK wires and changing my plugs (only been 2-3months) again today.

the check engine light will pop up for a split second when rpm's get below 3-400, then the idle control opens and blips it back up...check engine light doesnt mean its a code at that rpm, the ecm just thinks the engine is off (with key on-engine off, cel is always on, correct?)

im about to diagnose my tps (i have no codes at all but i have hella hesitation when under 1/4 throttle trying to cruise up a hill, untill i give it a little more, and a little more, and then at a given point it gives power and all is normal untill i close the throttle for engine braking)

how much was your sensor? ill go about calibrating/checking continuity (seems like a idle validation is sticking for too long)
