Bore Size for Composite HG?

HI
Sorry for repeating this question if it was asked before, but I could not find an answer in my search. So... I know a MHG is the recommend way to go by most, but my particular use of the car does not warrant all the effort of having the block decked. My plan is to use a fel-pro composite HG with APR bolts (72lbs torque). That being said, I don't know if this motor has ever been bored over. Even if it was, I have not been able to find any composite HG's with different bore sizes. Does this mean when using a composite gasket, bore size doesn't matter? Thanks for the help!

Generally pretty much all head gaskets have a bore diameter larger than what it will be bored to. Weather or not it's bored 20 or 40 over you will be fine.

I understand you don't want to go MLS but you really should and tq to 80lbs that's my 2 cents. It saves you from having to do it again down the road*if*decides to go out again on you. I am not trying to say it won't work but I am just not a fan of fel-pro style hg on a boosted car best of luck to you p.s I have got away a few times with MLS hg no deck or mil I don't recommend tho.

Composite head gasket is fine if your just looking to drive the car and not totally beat on it and mod it.

You *can* get away with cutting all kinds of corners on a build. However, it's generally not worth the risk. Using an MHG on a non-machined deck is Russian Roulette. It might be fine, it might blow right away. A composite HG (Fel Pro or OEM) will seal correctly much easier than an MHG with no prep. The MHG is not an extra layer of insurance if you don't machine the block. Without machining the block an MHG is a liability.

Yup. I'd go even further. I have an OEM HG on my car that's proof they can take a decent amount of abuse. 26k miles and ~4 years on my engine at 11 psi on a CT says the OEM HG is just fine for some extra power and consistent redline pulls. :)
