Intake, full 3" exhaust from the turbo back, MAFT & GM MAF, and a manual boost controller.

would you really need a MAF and MAFT for 14? wouldn't a Lexus work just fine?

also what about injectors?

lets add in there a perfectly maintained car. if your injectors are flowing how they should be, you can run 14 lbs of boost on the stock ct26 no prob.

there are a few ways to achieve this goal of yours, a MAFT is one of them, using a lex meter is another. VPC yet another...Standalone... etc you get the picture.

I've run 13 psi to redline in 3rd gear on the stock AFM, stock turbo, and stock injectors. I only have an intake, exhaust, boost controller and intercooler. Maybe it was the cold night or location [50 degrees outside, at sea level] or freak occurance, but I tried this several times and didn't hit fuel cut. When the summer came around, I had to drop it to the 11.5/12psi range.

When you say ONLY intercooler, are you referring to aftermarket or stock, intercoolers are by no means a basic mod for this car... and probably one somebody working on the ct is going to bother with... cept for you maybe? wierdo! jk..

It's an aftermarket Trust intercooler not made for my car, but made to fit and work. Hehe Someone I work with came back from Japan and was scrapping his Silvia projects, because the base wouldn't ship his CA18 and SR20 back to the states for his 240 transplant. He had a S13 coupe in EXCELLENT condition back here. He sold it though.. for $1800! It was pristine, had a body kit [I would have hucked the hood for a stock one, but that's all that needed changed] and was painted a beautiful blue. I told him if I knew he was selling, I would have given him $3k for it and he just about shit.

So anyways - the intercooler! I just did the piping ala JBL PVC pipe mod. The IC is a LITTLE crooked in my front grille, but I don't really care - car is rarely driven, as the 7M is slowly dying and I am saving for the rest of the 2JZ swap. At that point, a bigger intercooler with proper mounting and real welded hardpipes will go in. :D

I could see if someone bought a HKS intercooler from a store how an intercooler could be an expensive mod that CT owners don't generally have, but these days intercoolers are getting cheaper.

I have to tell you that while testing this setup, I had some FUN. 13psi is great, but it's better when you later unbolt stuff and run an open downpipe - you get that 13psi 1000rpms sooner. I couldn't launch the same at that point; I had too much wheelspin to 3rd. To properly launch, I had to let off the clutch to 1000rpms sooner. It's like the open downpipe broadened my powerband.

I wouldn't recommend it. You will have to re-calibrate your boost controller, and it is ungodly loud. Too much trouble for a few hours of fun. Plus, if you are just shimmed and running 9psi, it may bring our boost up more than you want - remote possibility of hitting fuel cut, even if you are only running 9psi.

Sure, the stock IC loses some boost pressure, but it still lets plenty through. :) I'm running the stock IC still. Not so great when it's hot out, but when the temperature drops, it works great, even at 17psi.
