im pretty sure that my stock BOV is leaking. i cant find any other place it would leak from. it seems fine till the turbo gets really hot. my thery is that when it gets hot it leaks....is this possible?

also how do i get a hold of the bosch 110? BOV. im not really sure were to look for one. and do you need anything special to install it? thanks for any help.

build a simple pressure tester thing. shouldn't be that expensive. get a compressor and connect the compressor to it. then check your boost gauge. it should drop sloooowly not instantly. ger some soapy water in a spray bottle and start spraying your piping. watch for bubbles. if bubbles found that's a leak.

for the by-pass valve, u can check a saab or porche dealer ship. pricy though

bump...also do you put the boost leak tester on the inlet to the turbo or on the piping? iv found both answers from searching.

No, I don't believe you will see boost on the stock gauge when pressurizing the IC in testing. Your mainly just listening for leaks..

Inlet of the turbo will work and is much easier. :)

Sorry... I missed this one...:biglaugh:

actually i have a autometer, i was wondering if i would see it on that?

I don't think so because some of the valves and the pvc system will be open in the motor letting it leak. I personally took off the IC pipe at the 3000 pipe and plugged that end for testing too..

Then, I just visually inspected the 3000 pipe couplers for leaks. After so many leaks I ended up replacing all the rubber and plastic bits with metal pipes, silicone hoses and T-bolt clamps. Problem solved..

havent tried yet. i found out that i had a hole in a coupler that went to my charge pipe so i just replaced that and it spolls so much quiter. im not leaking much at all now. but when my stock BPV releases it makes a sorta flutter sound. is this normal?

I think of fluttering (cheek farting noise) as compressor surge.. So yes, it is normal if your BOV or BPV is too small and the compressed air can not vent the excess pressure fast enough. It backs up and out the inlet of the turbo and is forced out the air filter.. Mine does this at low boost.

I have noticed that mine will make a VERY faint flutter when I release the gas while the turbo is spooled...some people on here have said that it's compressor surge...but idk. I tried blowing through it, and it's totally tight, doesn't let any air through... I am trying to get a BOV from staticpat so I can rid myself of the POS stocker...

If it flutters all the time, your BOV or BPV may not be working correctly. The up side is, your boost leak may be fixed.. lol ;)

ya its deffinitly not compresser surge. its only been doing ever since i fixed the boost leak. it blows off like it did normaly under low boost, but once i push about s6 and let off it does a fluttry blow off. its prolly just messed up and i should get a bosch.
