ok, i know its cold out there now, but i have noticed that on my autometer boost gauge my vac is a lil diffrent than normal at a specific rpm range.

normaly i would be at about 10 in of vac by 2k but lately i am seeing about 3-5 of vac at the same rpm range.

i understand that colder air can sometimes make big changes on a engine, but im starting to get a lil worried.

i have a slight miss and lights flash to the turn signals and the beet of the music. those are not the concern now. thats all waiting to be fixed on a weekend thats warmer and i can stand to be outside.

any and all help would be great.

fully warmed up its 20 in of vac. and yes that is at cruse. flat road, no hills. no extra weight other than me, my girlfriend, and my new puppy(6 weeks old).

ive just never really noticed this reading before. kinda has me a lil worried. i had drove across town, sat for about 45min to 1 hour. drove about 3 miles and noticed it being a little diffrent.

does it boost fine? no loss in power? as far as i know that dosnt indicate any problems. but i could be wrong. i wouldnt worry about it if you havent seen any drop in power and it idles well and otherwise runs good.

hooked up a "real" vacuum gauge today while on lunch at the shop. still get about the same readings. i might just be worrying too much about somthing really small. gonna change the oil tomorrow and get some throttle body cleaner and check for leaks.

as i was driving home from work i thought about this. im gonna have to retract my origional statement about not worrying about it. i would do a compression test if i were you.

think about it, in order to maintain a constant (cruising... ) speed youre needing to give it more throttle than usual, which is why you have lower vacuum readings. this is all speculation of course.

compression is fine. newer mhg (1 year old.) arp's. checked it just before it got really cold out. fine. i was not trying to boost at that moment. that system works fine.

i think i have:
1. vacum leak.
b. bad upper ic pipe to throttle body adapter.
bannana: it's some kinda weird voodo alien fluke.

i didnt notice it tonight on the way home from work. i do have to go get my gf from work, so ill look then.
