My boost gauge goes all the way to the top when I crank my car up. Does anyone know what is causing it and how to fix it? I noticed it did it after I had it dynod one day when they put about 14 lbs. of boost to it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

check all your vacume lines, especially to the waistgate actuator? or do you mean just when it starts up and stays there when not under boost?

when the car is not on, the needle is at the bottom. As soon as I crank it the needle goes to the top and stays there wheter I'm under boost or not. It doesnt fluxuate while driving either. It just stays pegged out.

doesnt the stock boost gauge max out at 8psi on the 91? sounds like it just shorted somewhere in the wireing or inside the gauge??, get a good aftermarket vacume opperated gauge to atleast 20-30psi so you know when your overboosting... could be the boost reference sensor too?

where and how would I check the boost reference sensor. Do they make an aftermarket gauge that will fit in the stock place? Thanks again for the help.

on mine, the sensor is located on the drivers front fender and it says boost sensor on it and had a single vac line going to it.. but im not sure how to diagnose it?? i have seen some gauges installed in the stock location but i think there is some custom fabrication involved. im sure someone here knows who im talking about?? It looked just like stock but went to 20 psi?...

to your post below. your welcome and thanks, not much help i know.. but im sure someone will jump in on this tomarrow...
