Keep in mind that a "boost cut eliminator" could be a "bhg enabler" because fuel cut is there as a safety net. If you disable it the engine can run lean and damage could occur. If you are hitting fuel cut at 8 psi you probably have a boost leak or your stock fpr is not functioning correctly.

I think what you have is a shitty BOV. If your BOV hose is soft enough, use a pair if needle nose vice grips to clamp the hose closed going to or from the BOV. Or plug the hose some how. Disconnect it stick a big bolt in there and use a hose clamp and some silicone, just to test the theory.

To explain to the author of this thread... People mix the term boost cut with fuel cut, what I believe you are experienceing is a boost leak back to before the turbo. If you get to 8 psi and then it smoothly goes back to 5 psi you definately dont need a FCD yet, especially not with the stock turbo.

A FCD (fuel cut defencer) that clifton and Aaron are refering to defends against the violent absence of power right when everything seems to be going so good. The first time most people experience it they think they broke their car/motor. This is the TCCS sencing that there is way too much air rushing past the AFM and (as they say) "shutting down the show"!!!

You should be good for 14-16 psi before you need an FCD. Once you experience it (Fuel Cut) you will KNOW IT.

Electronc boost controllers arent all they are cracked up to be. Everything else needs to be in order before they work properly.

10 cents says its the BOV!!!

Edit: I just looked at your profile, 10 more cents says you only get that 8 psi (for a second) when shifting between 1 and 2 and between 2 and 3, (And 3 and 4 obviously if you go that fast). Do you know why?

Do you have a stock exhaust system? Because a clogged catalytic converter can cause a restriction in the turbo system, impeding its ability to spool.

-Simply a boost leak.
-If stock exhaust, your boost pressure will fall badly when it comes time to shift.

And finally, Did you buy your Profec used?
Electronic boost controllers are GREAT to have...when they work (good condition). I'm not sure of the Profec's functionality, but your Stepper motor is probably fubared. My HKS EVC would do this randomly sometimes...
At first, I thought it was my turbo acting up, so to test it for sure, I unplugged my WG>Turbo hose and went to boost and sure enough, boosted to 17psi w/ fuel cut...so, it was definately my Stepper motor.

Just a few suggestions...Hopefully you figure it out.
