boost creep? i know stupid question.....

so ok, being new to turbo cars i look up lots of things. the other night a buddy of mine asked me if i had boost creep? anyone wanna enlighten me on what it is, or is my honda/ricer buddy crazy.

i dont even know why the hell someone would ask that question!? haha

boost creep is exactly what it sounds like. when you're boosting, (say 6psi) your boost will creep higher than what it's set at, (say to 7.5psi). but, the amount of creep is not set, it can just creep until it stops...

so what could cause it? bad wastegate? leaky ic pipes? its just somthing i wanna keep a eye out for.

pretty much, wastegate not opening correctly. I think mine was caused by my TC gasket leaking or the whole in the IC. I'll hopefully fix whaterver it is with my rebuild.

-Boost leaks
-Bad bov (boost leak)
-Faulty waste gate
-Small waste gate
-Exhaust leak pre turbo
-Faulty boost controller
-Miss matched compressor/turbine wheels to housing ratios. As in some one building a turbo that they shouldn't have.
