Boost Controller not controlling?

Hey all,

This is kind of a strange one that I hope can be rectified very easily.
When this boost controller was first installed over a year ago (AEM Tru-Boost) it seemed to work fine. I could set different levels of boost and really feel the difference. Couldnt set it too high or the boost cut / fuel cut would kick in early.

Well its been a while now, and since I got the car back from paint and all that, I swapped out the stock ECU for a stealth ECU and tried to run at high boost since I hadnt tried anything over 12psi since I got the car back and running. Well, to my surprise I still cant boost over 11.9psi/ Doesnt hit any fuel or boost cuts, but the pressure will not go above ~12psi. I know with the stock ECU I have set it to 16psi and while I had to be gentle with the throttle to prevent cuts, it would boost strong and pull nice. But at 12psi it just feels weak.....any suggestions?

I guess I can try to go back to the stock ECU to see if I can get higher than 12psi but I dont think the ECU is the culprit.

I would double check the wiring and maybe make sure the solenoid has proper ohmage in it, other than that if it was working fine before I don't know what to tell you, unless the painters messed something up?

Put your stock ecu in there and see what it does. If it works fine then there's something wrong with your Stealth ECU.
If it doesn't work right with the old ecu in there, make sure you don't have any boost leaks. Check and double check all of your clamps and make sure none of your couplings have been rubbing up against something causing a small hole. I don't know what type of turbo you have, but your wastegate could be getting stuck open also. Just a few things to check. Good luck.

The True Boost is really pain in the ass to set up. I dont know your set up, but on a single turbo 1jz - 46 duty cycle and 8 for spring pressure, seems to raise the boost to 14psi. There also 3 settings A,B,and Off make sure its not in off position. Anyways, if you already tried all that just disregard it.

Yes it was working before in the sense that I would be able to set the boost a little higher and feel and read the change. But with the stock ECU I would hit boost limit so I cant really set it too high. But I should just swap back to the stocker just to isolate it to that if its the culprit. I just hate hitting fuel/boost cut but its there for a reason.

I have the gauge/controller set up for low boost=12psi high boost =16psi and a scramble set to 16 as well although I dont use that function, but its there just in case. Not terribly hard to set up, just have to read the instructions a few times to really get it.
