Brass. If you back the hole with a peice of brass you can pretty easlily weld the hole shut. You cannot weld brass, so the new metal from your weld will not stick to the brass backing. It's just there to keep the molten metal from dripping through the hole. Once you're done welding remove the brass backing, grind smooth, and apply filler to perfect. Using this method it's very possible to do this mod with no filler at all. However, that will depend on the skill of the welder as the sheet metal will warp easily.

Good luck!

Caution: The brass will get very hot!

a good way to do that is tack weld it then shave it down and apply some kind of cosmetic repair IE bondo, just spot paint and youll be fine.

Oh the brass idea is a good approach as well. find a metal to use a back then apply bondo.

hope ive helped.

Well I have done it with ducktape and bondo and it came out pretty good just put duck tapo on the bottom of the hole and bondo over and it will holds really well.

did it on a 240
you can do it on a 240 sux but you shouldn't be allowed to do it to a supra..
it's your car do what you want but..
a 1" piece of sheetmetal + tackwelds wont break the bank.
then fill and smooth :icon_bigg
