so i have this block that i want to build. its a later 7m block that has never been bored over and is in great shape other than this coolent jacket seems pretty extreme to me. its not quite in the compression ring but its pretty dam close. do you think this will machine out to where its acceptable for a mhg? i just wanted some other opinions.

I'd lay a gasket on it and see if the errosion is inside the copper sealing ring of a composite gasket then lay that on your MHG of choice and compare.

dropped the block off at the machine shop yesterday.

rich come next week and i'll find out. yeh

will do jdub.

IJ i totally thought the same thing. i grabed one of my old hg layed it down and it was inside the jacket ring and not anywhere near the compression ring so i figured it would be good.

thanks for the advise guys. :icon_razz

Might even be worth having it Sonic checked for cylinder wall thickness Black as that amount of errosion will be anywhere there is turbulance in the cooling jacket and may have left the walls a bit thin for a performance build.
