Do you need to run the vacuum hose? I got to this step and realized I dont have any extra, will the timer still function or does it calculate the cooldown time based off the readings from the vacuum.

Not sure of your model, but mine needs no vacuum to work not sure it was even an option on mine:dunno:. Sounds like an optional feature, I just manually set the timer depending how stupid I drove the car.
auto timer is based off of the speed signal wire from the ecu (if you tap'd that).
the vac is for the boost gauge feature on the timer. it will display realtime as well as peak hold.
neither of these need to be hooked up for the timer to function standard.

I also have no vaccum hose. I just got the harness with the turbo timer and it was a breeze to install...:icon_surp
If you have one with a vac input, it will be unable to perform (IMO) its most important feature which is modify run time by boost.
