I forgot to Check to see if the clutch resivore was full after getting the car running and it went empty on me. Peddle got real soft and it was hard to get it into gear. Filled it up and pushed the pedddle in and out a Bunch of time untill it felt like it was normal again.
Do I need to bleed the clutch line like a break line or something, if so how do I go about doing it?
Thanks

theres is a bleeder screw at the slave cylinder. loosen the screw, push clutch pedal to the floor (fluid will come out so be ready).. then tighten screw and then raise pedal back up.... and repeat.. make sure to keep topping up fluid.

yep just like brakes. im a bit more high tech, i use a hand vacum pump to bleed rather than the conventional way. less mess and i can do it by myself.

Sometimes it's easier to pump the clutch 20-30 times quickly and hold it down on the last pump, then have a helper open the bleeder. It'll push the air out very quickly that way. Just don't get in front of the bleeder hose... it'll come out fast. This way works easier sometimes if the reservoir was run dry or you replaced the master cylinder. The other way works better if you're just replacing a hose or slave cylinder.

This was the 90 I just got, it was sitting for 7yrs. I think it was pretty empty to begin with, I am still going to check for leaks.

Thanks poodles!

If it's been dry for that long, just replace the whole system (master, slave, and soft line).

I'd be suspicious of the brake system as well, brake fluid absorbs moisture and oxidization can occur (eating soft lines, rust on hard lines). Not to mention seals going bad...

Well it worked fine for a month or so, then it got real soft on me and I had to pin it to the floor to get it in gear, got home and checked to see the black floater at the bottom, filled it up and it works.

Can I swap all clucth and brake lines and stuff from my 87 that I was DD until a few months ago?
