Black soot

Hey people,I have a question about black soot coming from my exhaust. It leaves a very distinct pattern on my driveway when I start my car and leaves the tip covered with it. Is this a sign of future component failure? I am having FC problems right now,and think I have a boost leak as I can't get more than 9 psi without good 'ol code 34 popping up. Any ideas?:aigo:

yeah, fix your boost leak.

the stuff being left on your driveway is water mixed with the soot being thrown out the tailpipe.

yea its from running rich due to a boost leak. i had the same problem but it wasnt a boost leak (tested it) it was just the factory computer runing 10.3 air fuels at 11 psi.

Also check out your O2 sensor if the boost leak thing doesn't fix it. I had that problem when my O2 sensor was shot.
