Black smoke and rough ride

My car is running really rough, it idles and dies right way, it wont rev past 2000 rpms without breaking up and it is smoking black like crazy.

I just installed a new intercooler and took it out for a ride, i immediately hit fuel cut( im assuming before this intercooler i had a bad leak) and then it didnt want to run anymore, help..

have you checked for boost leaks and also double check your afm and make sure that it's connected but i sounds like you have a massiveboost leak

*New findings* I just looked under the car and i copletely blew off a clamp and the intercooler isnt even connected to the car now...that would explin the leak,

Would your coolant get really really hot form this? My radiator was nearly boiling when i did get home, temperature guage didnt move though...

No, boost leaks wont cause overheating. What do you mean by "radiator was nearly boiling"? You can't see inside the radiator, so what are you basing this on? Was it making noise, was the upper radiator hose firm, etc.

Um by that i meant the radiator was very very hot and there was liquid on it that was boiling, i believe it was from the overflow tank, i have a metal upper radiator hose so it was firm

you probably didnt even hit fuel cut. you put the new IC in, then went out for a test run, pushed the car hard and boom, you blew an IC hose. that caused the black smoke and the stuttering.

either way, i was taking a chance with worm clamps and now have already ordered T-bolt clamps, i felt awfully like fuel cut though, either way im gonna put her back together

yeah, there was a thread on the worm clamps not to long ago. most of the guys ending up switching to the t-bolt clamps.
