So, My check engine light won't come on when the key is turned on the car. But the car turns over. What could be the problem. The computer is obviously getting power. Idk what's wrong. Plus. When I
unplug the icv & the maf sensor the car stays running. Very rich. Idk what's going on.

Maybe Your maf is going bad? I know that my car cannot run with it unplugged so its beyond me

I changed the maf and it's still the same problem. I don't know how it still runs. Maybe the wires are crossed some where..

if your check engine light does not come on when you create a problem, than you have a burnt bulb or issue in the circuit. Can you rev the car up with maf unplugged? so what is the exact issue with the car the light or maf?

I'm Gonna change the comp cause it's getting power but nothing seems to be coming out. Especially if the car still runs with the maf & icv unplugged at the same time

It revs fine with the maf sensor unplugged. There is also a vacume leak that I'm trying to find.
Problems, 1. Running very rich 2. Vacume leak or bad vacume set up. 3. Car runs with maf & icv unplugged
4. No check engine light on w/ key turn or problems

A vac leak will cause a rich condition, iirc. You are letting metered air escape so the af mixture is incorrect. To me it doesnt seem like the computer is the issue. Have you checked the tsrm to further diag? would be cheaper than throwin an ecu at it, unless you got a spare lying around. What are you mods? have you checked all fuse and wiring?

When did this start happening? Any work prior to issues?

try looking through this for proper testing

Redacted per Title 18 USC Section 798
1) Unless one was installed after the car was built these engines don't use a MAF sensor.

2) It's normal for a GTE to run with the AFM and ISCV unplugged. Those that won't have something wrong with them. Shouldn't rev past 3000 though.

2) When not under boost (a condition the OP seems to be describing) induction leaks will cause the engine to run lean.

3) As mentioned the MIL problem is very likely a bulb or wiring issue. It's possible for the lamp driver in the ECU to fail but that would be extremely rare...

Check the basics first, air, fuel, spark.

1. It is not a MAF, it is an air flow meter (AFM)

2. The car will run if those sensors are unplugged, it will just run in limp mode usually causing lean or rich conditions.

good all on the maf, i mean afm lol. was refering to afm but dont always type correctly. I think the best would be to fix bulb issue then check codes. might be pretty simple once that is taken care of

paperclip between e1 and te1 on diag block, but since your cel bulb is inop it will do you know good. I did hook up a scanner to mine one time, using the toyota adapter but i cant remember if it gave me codes or not? I know that it does not show data but dont remember on the codes.

First off you need to address the light problem or you are not really gonna get anywhere.

Take your cluster out, fix the bulb, for now I would just take the abs light-bulb out and put in in cel spot. Jump t1 (pre-89), te1 (89+), and e1. Read the flashes, it is getting late so I am going to post a link, instead of explaining it to you.

Instead of the "sst", use a paper clip. I always have a box of them in my tools and in the glove box....

So, Here is the update. When I jump
The car with the paper clip & start it, everything runs fine. CEL comes on & Car runs exactly how it's supposed to. But as soon as the paperclip is pulled out it's back to running rich with a fluttering idle.
What's could possibly be the problem?

Jackpot! It was a damn corroded fuse in the car. Car is running good. The cel works how it's supposed to. When I jump the diagonatic box the CEL flashes constantly without pause. I can't find the codes anywhere. Can someone shoot them 4 me. Thanks guys!
